Summary: with some additional hardware you can set up an activated Tivo Series 2 to record a video stream BUT problem is getting Tivo to record for correct length of time.

Background:

Have 2 life-time activated Tivo series 2 units.

Upgraded hard drive in both units years ago.

Rent movies but as all stream, no good way to capture for later viewing

Since a Tivo records video, how to make it record streaming rented videos?
