"BMW Z3 - How to Remove the Side Marker for Bulb Replacement"

Summary: the side marker is the one not in the bumper. The type I had has no screw holding it in, so marker is pushed towards the back of the car and then lifted up from the front.

Background:

BMW Z3, 1997, 2.8 liter, 50,000 miles.

Garage fire destroyed side marker on right side (passenger).

Bought new marker but needed wiring harness connector number to buy replacement.

Needed to remove from left side to see harness connector.

Remove side marker:

The side markers I have do not have any screw holding them in place and not obvious that screws under amber plastic lens.

So, it turns out, the side market is clipped under the sheet metal in the front and metal clip tension held in place at the back.

To remove, you push the marker towards the rear of the car and then lift up from the front.
