"BMW X5 - How to Remove the Glove Box"

Summary: easy to get most Phillips screws out but there are 2 along each side further back that can be difficult unless you unhook the box to get more room.
Background:
BMW X5: model year 2000, 4.4 liter, 188,000 miles.
Cabin blower fan had to be replaced requiring dash removal.
Glove box had to be removed as part of dash removal.
Glove box removal also makes it easier to replace final stage resistor.
The glove box is hard plastic.
The glove box has lots of Phillips screws holding it to the dash and to metal supports in behind the dash.
Because the glove box can and often does hold contents with considerable weight, all screws removed must be replaced and tight.
Glove box removal:
There are Phillips screws along the front edge of the glove box: easily removed.
There is one Phillips screw up under the side edge of the glove box on either side, near the front edge. If you feel around or look with a work light, you can easily see and remove these.
